Welcome to Burdseye Aerial Photography
This site presents a collection of aerial photographs of landscapes, monuments
and buidings taken from a radio controlled aircraft. It combines an interest in
things that fly with the capture of lansdcape images that bring a different
perspective to the beauty of our surroundings and the world we live in.
For me this is a hobby which is focussed on developing solutions that work,
are affordable while giving good results, and allow me to experiment with new
ideas and techniques. Most pictures have been taken with a regular compact 'point and shoot'
camera mounted to a radio controlled plane such as a powered glider. As things have
progressed I have experimented with different types and formats of aircraft, and started
to experiment with smaller format video cameras and image stabilisation techniques.
On the HOME page you can find pictures taken during recent
outings along with a bit of background on the particular subject or area of interest.
The PICTURE OF THE MONTH tab has a picture from a month which
particularly reflects the visible changes in seasons while in the
GALLERIES tab you can find collections of photos of places
that I have frequently visited. On the VIDEO tab you can see videos
taken from the planes, while on the AIRCRAFT page you can find
information about the radio controlled planes and cameras.
